Scope and purpose
Swingfolio Daily publishes two briefings per ASX trading day: a morning setup after the US close, and an afternoon recap after the ASX close. Each briefing is market observation for educational and informational purposes. Briefings are not personal financial advice, do not consider your objectives, situation or needs, and should not be used as the sole basis for a trading decision.
Authorship
Briefings are produced by Swingfolio Research, the editorial team behind swingfolio.com. Every briefing is drafted, reviewed, and published against a strict internal style guide that prohibits trading advice language (buy/sell recommendations, price targets, entry setups) and templated filler phrases. A content validator rejects drafts that contain such language before they reach the site.
This site does not provide personal financial advice and does not hold an Australian Financial Services licence.
Data sources
- Index levels, FX, commodities.Yahoo Finance (delayed), used for both AU indices (S&P/ASX 200, All Ordinaries, AU VIX) and US/global references (S&P 500, NASDAQ, Dow, VIX, AUD/USD, gold, Brent, copper).
- Top movers and single-name percentages. EODHD end-of-day screener for ASX-listed stocks, filtered by market cap (default ≥ A$500M), price (≥ A$0.20) and liquidity (≥ 500k avg daily volume).
- Catalysts and market colour. Company ASX announcements, economic releases, and public news sources (Perplexity web search, Google News RSS). Attribution is implicit — we never republish headlines verbatim.
When Yahoo or a news source disagrees with the EODHD screener on a single-name percentage, the screener’s end-of-day value is used. We record these overrides in each briefing’s internal audit trail.
Accuracy and corrections
If you spot a factual error in a briefing, please email [email protected]. Material corrections are applied to the affected briefing and noted via the dateModifiedfield in the page’s structured data. Numbers are verified against their primary source at publication time; intraday data may be delayed by up to 15 minutes depending on source.
Conflicts of interest
Swingfolio Research does not accept payment from issuers, brokers or fund managers to feature names in briefings. Swingfolio is a subscription portfolio tracker; our commercial relationship is with our users, not with the companies we write about.
