ASX Morning Brief, 18 June 2026: Warsh's First Fed Meeting Sinks Wall Street, Gold Drops 2.2%

Kevin Warsh's first FOMC held rates but lifted the median 2026 dot to 3.8% from 3.4%, pencilling in a hike. The S&P 500 fell 1.21%, the Nasdaq 1.34%, gold dropped 2.17% to US$4,286/oz and the AUD slid to 0.7019. The bank-heavy ASX 200 is indicated 0.5% higher even as gold miners face a soft open.
