ASX 200 ends week 1.60% lower at 9,115.2 as bank results drag, energy and lithium lead

The S&P/ASX 200 closed at 9,115.2 on Friday 14 August 2026, down 1.60% for the week and its first weekly loss after a record 9,271.60 close on 6 August. The big four banks cost roughly 80 basis points of the 160 basis point fall, led by CBA.AU -6.09% after its FY26 result, with miners taking another 40. Utilities +7.56% and Energy +2.66% led the sector table as Brent gained 5.95%. Arena REIT ARF.AU fell 29.88% after its childcare tenant sought rent relief.
