ASX 200 set to open 11 points higher as Nvidia and Salesforce lift the Nasdaq 1.57%
The S&P/ASX 200 closed at 9,038.2 on 27 August 2026, down 0.98%, and SPI futures point to an open 11 points higher. NVDA.US rose 8.74% on a fiscal 2028 growth guide near 70% and CRM.US gained 22.58% on a raised earnings outlook, carrying the Nasdaq Composite up 1.57%. September RBA hike pricing at 27% after Wednesday's July CPI beat is keeping the local open close to flat.
ASX 200 climbs 0.60% to 9,092.3 as a Nasdaq software rally lifts local tech and the banks bounce
The S&P/ASX 200 closed at 9,092.3 on 28 August 2026, up 54.1 points or 0.60%, after an overnight Nasdaq gain of 1.57% lifted local technology 2.31% and financials rebounded 0.75% off a 10% drawdown. Dicker Data DDR.AU rose 20.66% on an FY26 profit beat and St Barbara SBM.AU gained 20.30% on a maiden dividend, while WAM Capital WAM.AU fell 18.54% on a 48% cut to its FY27 dividend target and PEXA PXA.AU dropped 17.43% on a results miss. Advancers trailed decliners 134 to 143 across the ASX 300.
