ASX 200 futures point 1.2% lower as the US 10-year yield reaches 5.11%
ASX SPI 200 futures settled 1.2% lower at 8,708 after the US 10-year Treasury yield rose 14.6 basis points to 5.114%. A September flash composite PMI of 58.4 with input prices at 66.4 moved rate futures to price an October Fed rise. GOOGL.US fell 3.80%, the AUD fell 1.11% to US$0.7041, and Brent returned above US$103.

ASX 200 Sheds 0.72% to 8,702 as a Bond Yield Spike Hits Banks and Miners
The ASX 200 closed at 8,702.0, down 0.72%, as a weak US Treasury auction pushed the 10-year yield to a 19-year high of 5.11%. Banks, miners and REITs led the decline; energy was the only sector to advance.
