S&P 500 ends week +0.7% as chip gear rallies and software derates

The S&P 500 rose 0.65% on the week to 7,431.46 as a sharp rebound in semiconductor-equipment stocks ran alongside an 11% to 19% slide in enterprise software. The Russell 2000 led at +3.90%, the VIX fell 18% to 17.68, and a record SpaceX IPO plus advancing US-Iran talks drove a risk-on Friday. Kevin Warsh chairs his first FOMC next week.
