US Pre-Market June 29: Futures Rise as US-Iran Tensions Ease; Comcast Jumps on Plan to Split in Two
US stock futures climbed into the Monday open after Washington and Tehran agreed to stand down and resume talks in Doha, with S&P 500 futures up 0.9% and Nasdaq 100 futures up 1.2%. Comcast jumped about 20% on a plan to split into two public companies, and Charter rose alongside it. The week is holiday-shortened, with the June jobs report due Thursday and the cash market closed Friday.
US close, June 29 2026: Dow tops 52,000 as Alphabet joins and tech rebounds
US stocks rose on June 29 2026, the S&P 500 up 1.18% to 7,440.43 and the Nasdaq up 2.07%, as the largest growth stocks rebounded and the Dow closed above 52,000 for the first time on Alphabet's index debut. Iridium jumped 25.44% on a $54 a share Rocket Lab takeover that lifted satellite names. Capital-markets brokers lagged.
