S&P 500 adds 1.2% for the week as tech heavyweights offset an Iran-driven Dow drop

US stocks finished the first week after the July 4 holiday higher but narrow. The S&P 500 rose 1.23% and the Nasdaq 1.74% on large technology and AI names, while the Dow fell 0.50% and the Russell 2000 slipped 0.61%. A mid-week collapse of the US-Iran ceasefire lifted oil more than 4% and pushed year-end rate-hike odds toward 85%.
