US Pre-Market, 14 July 2026: Futures Mixed as June CPI and Bank Earnings Collide, Oil Jumps on Hormuz
S&P 500 futures held near flat, Nasdaq 100 futures rose 0.52% and Dow futures fell 0.48% ahead of the June CPI report at 8:30am ET, which lands the same morning as Q2 results from JPMorgan, Wells Fargo, Citigroup, Bank of America and Goldman Sachs. Brent crude jumped 3.93% to $86.57 on a Strait of Hormuz escalation, lifting the US 10-year yield to a two-month high near 4.61%.
US Close July 14 2026: Nasdaq +0.90% as chips and cyber rally, IBM posts worst day on record
US equities finished higher on 14 July 2026, with the Nasdaq up 0.90% and the S&P 500 up 0.38%, as a soft June inflation print lifted AI chip and cybersecurity names. IBM fell 25.21%, its worst day on record, after warning second-quarter revenue missed, while a health-care selloff and mixed bank earnings kept the gains in check.
