US Pre-Market: Nasdaq Futures Down 1.07% as Semiconductors Hand Back Tuesday's Rally
Nasdaq 100 futures trade 1.07% lower at 29,001.50 as the memory and storage names behind Tuesday's rally reverse: SNDK.US -4.42%, WDC.US -4.99%, MU.US -4.14%. SMCI.US gains 12.75% on more than $60 billion of new fourth-quarter orders. WTI at $87.08 (+3.25%) on an 11th consecutive night of US strikes on Iran keeps energy the firmest sector, and Alphabet and Tesla report after the close.
S&P 500 Slips 0.14% as Pegasystems Warning Hits Enterprise Software
The S&P 500 closed at 7,498.96 on 22 July 2026, down 0.14%, with the Dow flat at 52,218.58 and the Nasdaq down 0.57% to 25,690.90. PEGA.US fell 16.00% after missing on both lines and telling investors that customers are delaying purchases because of AI, and the read across took NOW.US down 6.47%, CRM.US 4.15% and ADBE.US 3.87%. Energy, materials and utilities absorbed most of that, with XLU.US up 2.25% and Brent at US$93.88 on an 11th straight night of US strikes on Iran. SMCI.US led the market at plus 19.84% on a record AI server backlog. Alphabet and Tesla both reported after the close.
