US Futures Rise as Oil Eases on Iran Talks; Akamai Up 16% on Anthropic Deal
S&P 500 futures are up 0.29% to 7,789.75 before the Friday open as Brent crude falls 1.43% to $98.79 on a report of US-Iran talks over a phased Strait of Hormuz reopening. Akamai AKAM.US is up 15.93% premarket on a seven-year, $11.6 billion Anthropic cloud contract. The 10-year yield is up 4.8 bps to 5.16%, and August durable goods orders were flat.
US Close 25 September 2026: S&P 500 +0.51% to 7,743 as Microsoft's Copilot Overhaul Outweighs Cybersecurity Losses
The S&P 500 closed at 7,743.41 on 25 September 2026, up 0.51%, and the Dow gained 0.93%. MSFT.US rose 3.66% after Microsoft rebuilt Copilot around a new Autopilot agent, worth about 22 bps of the move. ZS.US fell 10.06% on a chief revenue officer change and PANW.US, OKTA.US and S.US followed. WTI fell 2.29% to US$92.44 and the 10-year yield closed at 5.184%. The S&P 500 rose 1.21% for the week.
