ASX 200 futures flat as oil jumps 9% and chips lead Wall Street lower: 14 July 2026

S&P/ASX 200 futures point to a near-flat open, down 8 points or 0.09%, as a 9% jump in crude oil and stronger energy stocks offset a second straight semiconductor selloff and a 2.8% fall in gold. Wall Street closed lower with the Nasdaq off 1.55% and the VIX up 14% to 17.2, and local gold and materials names take a soft lead into the open.
