ASX 200 set to open 18 points lower as US July CPI lands in line at 3.4%
SPI futures point the S&P/ASX 200 to open 18 points or 0.2% lower near 9,191 after US July CPI printed 3.4% year on year and shifted September Fed pricing toward a hold. The Nasdaq rose 0.54% and the S&P 500 0.26% while the Dow slipped 0.04%. Gold gained 0.66% to US$4,399.20/oz, iron ore held flat at US$95.09/t, and five ASX 200 companies release FY26 results today.
ASX 200 Close 13 August 2026: CBA Slides Again, ANZ Jumps 4.5%
The S&P/ASX 200 finished at 9,188.5 on 13 August 2026, down 20.9 points or 0.23% in a third straight decline. CBA.AU fell 2.15% for a second session after its FY26 result, costing the index about 22 basis points, while ANZ.AU rose 4.53% on its third-quarter update and put 19 back. RIO.AU traded ex-dividend and TLS.AU fell 3.20% on FY27 guidance below consensus. CWY.AU led the market up 15.19% after EQT Infrastructure lodged a $3.13 a share cash proposal. Breadth was negative at 69 advancers to 144 decliners.
