ASX 200 set to open 4 points lower as Nvidia's 106% revenue jump lifts Nasdaq futures 1.01%
The S&P/ASX 200 is set to open 4 points lower on 27 August 2026, a SPI call settled at 06:58 AEST after Wall Street finished flat. NVDA.US reported second-quarter revenue of US$96.2 billion, up 106% from a year ago, and guided to US$108.0 billion for the current quarter, trading 3.98% higher after the bell. Nasdaq futures are 1.01% higher at 08:37 AEST, while a firmer annual US PCE reading lifted the 10-year Treasury yield to 4.664%. Wesfarmers, Qantas, South32, Mineral Resources and Magellan report FY26 results, and ABS capex data lands at 11:30 AEST.
ASX 200 falls 0.98% to 9,038 as RBA hike bets harden and FY26 results land badly
The S&P/ASX 200 fell 89.6 points to 9,038.2 on 27 August 2026, a 0.98% decline, after July household spending rose 1.1% against a 0.3% forecast and pushed Australian 2-year and 10-year yields to their highest since May. Six FY26 results cost the index about 24 basis points, BHP.AU another 16 and the big four banks 12. Health Care was the only sector of size to finish higher, up 0.23%, as Ramsay Health Care gained 13.72% on an earnings beat.
