ASX 200 falls 0.76% to 8,665.0, its lowest close since June, as the US 10-year yield reaches 5.18%
The S&P/ASX 200 closed at 8,665.0 on 25 September 2026, down 66.2 points or 0.76% for the week and its lowest close since 12 June, as the US 10-year Treasury yield rose 18.6 basis points to 5.18%, its highest since 2007, and the Trump-Xi summit extended the trade truce by only two months. Utilities fell 5.23% and Consumer Staples rose 0.78%. TUA.AU lost 21.24% after FY26 results, SRL.AU gained 15.30% in its first full week in the ASX 200, and money markets price about a 90% chance of a 25 basis point RBA hike to 4.60% on 29 September.
