ASX 200 futures flat as Trump rejects Iran's Hormuz plan before Tuesday's RBA decision
ASX SPI 200 futures point to a 3-point gain after the S&P 500 rose 0.51% to 7,743.41 on Friday. November Brent traded 1.53% higher at US$105.92 early Monday after President Trump rejected Iran's seven-day plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The US 10-year yield closed at 5.184%, and all four major banks expect the RBA to lift the cash rate to 4.60% on Tuesday.
ASX 200 Rises 0.17% to 8,679.7 as Banks and Health Care Offset a 3% Gold Drop
The S&P/ASX 200 closed at 8,679.7 on 28 September 2026, up 0.17%, as Financials (+1.16%) and Health Care (+1.49%) outweighed a 1.34% fall in Materials after gold futures dropped 3.03% to US$4,190.3/oz. NST.AU rose 6.15% after rejecting a Gold Fields proposal, and KAR.AU fell 12.89% on a production guidance cut.
