ASX 200 futures down 0.55% as the US 10-year yield rises to 5.29% after a cooler PCE print

ASX 200 futures pointed to a 48-point (0.55%) fall at the open on 1 October 2026. The Dow fell 0.86% to 50,906.05 as the US 10-year yield rose 3.8 bp to 5.29%, even with August core PCE at 3.0% against 3.3% expected. GS.US and CAT.US cost the Dow about 180 points. AUD/USD fell 0.57% to 0.6948 and WTI rose 1.16% to US$90.42. Building approvals print at 11:30 AEST; mainland China is closed until 8 October.
