ASX 200 futures up 0.55% as the US 10-year yield eases to 5.24% and WTI jumps 2.71%
ASX 200 futures pointed to a 48-point (0.55%) gain at the open on 2 October 2026 after the S&P 500 rose 0.19% to 7,666.45 and the US 10-year yield fell 5.6 bp to 5.24%. ACN.US rose 15.78% and SNPS.US 12.78%, lifting US tech 1.05%. November WTI settled 2.71% higher at US$92.87 and gold 0.37% higher at US$4,202.30/oz; AUD/USD fell 0.27% to 0.6930. US September payrolls print at 22:30 AEST.
ASX 200 rises 0.79% to 8,682.1 as bond yields ease and tech jumps 4.45%
The S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.79% to 8,682.1 on 2 October 2026, recovering about 39% of Thursday's 1.99% fall, as the US 10-year Treasury yield eased 6 bps to 5.24% and Australia's 3-year yield fell 4 bps to 4.88%. Financials (+1.03%), materials (+1.14%) and info tech (+4.45%) supplied about 70 bps, offset by about 20 bps from health care and real estate. MP1.AU rose 10.32% and WTC.AU 6.67%; EQR.AU fell 10.11%.
