ASX 200 futures up 0.30% after US payrolls cut October Fed hike odds to 16%

ASX 200 futures pointed to a 26-point (0.30%) gain at the open on 5 October 2026 after the S&P 500 rose 0.73% to 7,722.72 and the Nasdaq 1.19% when US September payrolls added 29,000 jobs, cutting October Fed hike odds from 64% to 16%. The US 10-year yield still rose 4 bp to 5.28%. November WTI fell 1.90% to US$91.11 on a G7 plan to consider releasing reserves, gold settled 0.95% lower at US$4,162.30/oz and AUD/USD traded at 0.6959.
