ASX 200 futures fall 0.8% to 8,786 as European stocks drop and the Nasdaq gains 1.11%

ASX 200 futures fell 74 points, or 0.8%, to 8,786 by 7:40am AEDT on 20 October 2026. The STOXX 600 lost 0.80% on a French bond selloff and the US 10-year yield rose 4 bps to 5.14%, while chip stocks lifted the Nasdaq 1.11%. BHP.AU reported a 19% fall in quarterly copper output with guidance unchanged, and AUD/USD rose 0.46% to 0.6981.
