US Futures Fall as Trump Rejects Iran's Hormuz Plan; Oil Up 3%, Gold Down 3%
S&P 500 futures are down 0.35% to 7,776.50 and Nasdaq futures 0.60% before Monday's open after President Trump rejected Iran's conditional seven-day plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. WTI crude is up 2.95% to $95.14, gold is down 3.03% to $4,190.40 and the 10-year yield is 5.21%, with CME FedWatch at 72% for an October hike. Kodiak Sciences KOD.US is up 68.66% premarket on Phase 3 wet AMD results, and Nvidia NVDA.US is up 1.91% on its AI agent safety platform and a $150 billion buyback increase.

The S&P 500 closed at 7,683.69 on 28 September 2026, down 0.77%, as the 10-year Treasury yield rose to 5.24%, its highest since 2007, and OpenAI paused training of its most advanced models. META.US fell 4.79%, about 14 bps of the move, while NVDA.US rose 1.68% on a $150 billion buyback increase. MDB.US fell 18.46% after its chief executive left for Meta. Gold fell 4.00% to US$4,148.50 as WTI rose to US$93.29 on the Hormuz standoff.
