S&P 500 futures are up 0.35% and Nasdaq 100 futures 0.51% at 8:33am ET on 1 October 2026 after Micron MU.US reported fiscal fourth-quarter revenue of $54.23 billion against a $51.07 billion LSEG consensus and guided above estimates. Accenture ACN.US is up 16.87% pre-market to $214.49 on $18.68 billion of quarterly revenue, above the top of its own $17.75 billion to $18.4 billion guidance range. The 10-year Treasury yield is up 4 bps to 5.29%, around its highest since 2002, and Brent crude is back above $100 a barrel after Reuters reported that Chinese refiners suspended October fuel exports.

- Micron and chips: MU.US earned an adjusted $33.42 a share in its fiscal fourth quarter against $31.61 expected, and guided first-quarter EPS to $38.15, plus or minus $1.00, against a $36.02 street estimate. The stock is -0.72% pre-market at $1,057.40 because the company guided to a lower current-quarter gross margin and flagged higher fiscal 2027 operating expenses. Other chip names are higher: the VanEck Semiconductor ETF SMH.US +0.54%, NVDA.US +0.84%, SNDK.US +0.65%, WDC.US +0.57%.
- AI models: GOOGL.US is +1.52% pre-market after Google released Gemini 4 Argon, which it said improves cybersecurity, coding and professional tasks.
- Rates: the 10-year yield is 5.29%, up 4 bps on Yahoo, after LSEG data showed it touching 5.33% earlier, a level last seen in April 2002. The 30-year traded at 5.67% overnight, its highest since July 2002. Germany's 10-year Bund rose 4 bps to 3.62%, its highest since 2008, France's 10-year 11 bps to 4.95% and the UK 10-year 5 bps to 5.48%. The US Dollar Index is 101.74, +0.29%.
- Oil: WTI November crude is +1.25% to $91.55, reversing an earlier loss, and Brent December traded at $100.15. PetroChina cancelled several October gasoline and jet fuel cargoes, according to Reuters. XOM.US is -0.55% and CVX.US -0.18% pre-market. Gold is +0.49% to $4,207.10 an ounce and Bitcoin -1.62% to $83,878.
Jobless claims at 8:30am ET
Initial jobless claims were 197,000 in the week ending 26 September, down 1,000 from a revised 198,000, against a 200,000 forecast. The four-week average fell 2,500 to 200,000. Continuing claims for the week ending 19 September were 1,701,000, down 11,000. Challenger, Gray & Christmas counted 43,281 announced job cuts in September, 20% fewer than a year earlier.

Japan's Nikkei 225 closed at 68,956.72 on 1 October 2026, up 2,203 points or 3.30%, as Advantest rose 9.78%, Tokyo Electron 6.47% and Kioxia 5.55% after Micron's guidance.
